Expedition phases

Your students choose activities from any of the following phases:

Abdelkarim Chbani Foundation

World Challenge teams have been undertaking project work at this women and children’s centre since 2014. So far, teams have renovated the playground, painted educational murals, planted trees and vegetables and installed a new water pump. This has resulted in a safer and more aesthetically pleasing play area for the children, access to potable water and functioning toilet and shower facilities.

High Atlas Mountains

1 - 5 days

Choosing to trek in the High Atlas Mountains in Morocco gives you the chance to experience a great diversity of environments, including snow-capped mountains, green pastures, breathtaking gorges and friendly Berber villages en route.

1 - 5 days

Projects in Morocco

Projects in Morocco are based in local communities and there is plenty of opportunity to get involved in worthwhile tasks, depending on the needs of the community. Past projects include renovating schools, installing toilet blocks, refurbishing classrooms, building pathways, planting gardens and installing irrigation systems.

In 2014, we sent

33 teams

to 17 project sites where they constructed 13 toilet cubicles and 16 handwashing facilities, refurbished 17 classrooms and 8 playgrounds, built and furnished 1 community centre, planted 150 trees and 5 vegetable gardens, as well as constructing 1 pavilion-style, half-brick & half-bamboo ecological classroom.

In-Country Agent

PEAK Adventure Travel Marrakech has been coordinating our teams in Morocco since summer 2014. Established in Marrakech over eight years ago, they provide excellent logistical back-up and support, and organise the majority of in-country accommodation, trekking and transport.
Operations Managers, Kristijan Svajnzger (pictured) and Redouane El Mouatasim, will be on hand to share their knowledge and ensure your adventure is memorable.

Rest & Relaxation

Discover the souks

Learn a few words in Arabic to barter with the vendors in the fascinating souks and the amazing Djemaa El Fna Square, with its dramatic mix of snake charmers, musicians, healers, storytellers and vendors.

Visit Essaouira’s bustling fishing harbour and treat yourself to some freshly grilled fish at one of the nearby restaurants. Afterwards, why not take a look at the fascinating woodwork shops in the old Medina, explore the town's fortifications or relax at the beach.

World Challenge Morocco 2014

Watch Franconian International School as they get stuck into the project and trekking phases of their expedition to Morocco and explore the city of Marrakech.

One Word Challenge

We asked Challengers on expedition in Morocco to pick just one word to describe the country – here's what they came up with!

Mount Toubkal

4 - 5 days

Climb to an altitude of 4,167m trekking up Mount Toubkal, the highest peak in the Atlas Mountains and North Africa. Guided and catered, your support team will help you make it to the summit for amazing views and a truly unforgettable moment.

4 - 5 days

White water rafting

All white water rafting has been suspended until further notice.
I have travelled extensively around Morocco and have been truly inspired by its beauty and diversity, but the highlight for me has to be the buzzing atmosphere of Marrakech's historic, maze-like souks!
