World Challenge – Our History

World Challenge Expeditions was formed in 1987 by Charles Rigby, who was previously a Captain in the Army.

From his own experience leading soldiers in the Himalayas, he fervently believed that they learnt more effectively through practical experiences.

An excellent expedition with a wide range of activities and adventure. The students' experience was priceless and they enjoyed every minute. Our Expedition Leader was exceptional and was fully integrated into the team. We were very sad to say goodbye to him and to leave to come home. Although the fundraising was a huge effort, the students valued the experience even more. They had lots of opportunities to show off their skills and learn new ones. It was brilliant!

Why go on a school trip when you can go on a World Challenge?

"The structure of a World Challenge expedition is a winning formula. The way the students are engaged and involved from the outset gives them true ownership of their experience... It is an experience like no other!"
