Acclimatisation in Venezuela
There are a number of areas where teams can acclimatise in Venezuela. It is possible for teams to trek in one of two national parks in Maracay and Barquisimeto, in the Andean foothills of Barinas, along the coast of the Paria Peninsula and in La Gran Sabana.

Main trekking phase
Gran Sabana: In the Guyana Highlands, otherwise known as the Gran Sabana, the team may decide to embark on an ascent of Mt Roraima, the highest of  the ‘Tepuis’ or table top mountains in this area and the inspiration for Arthur Conan Doyle’s book “The Lost Worlds”.

Andes: Alternatively, teams who would like to experience trekking in the Andes can chose from 3 challenging treks, each 5 days long. The Condor Pass trek and Cara del Indio trek both take in peaks and reach a maximum altitude of 4600m. Fitter teams may wish to trek across the Andes from Merida to Barinas, finishing off with some white water rafting at the end.

Project work in Venezuela
Teams can participate in a number of different projects throughout Venezuela. Examples of previous projects include; working at schools in Amerindian villages in La Gran Sabana or on the Rio Caura, undertaking conservation work in one of the National Parks and doing general maintenance and construction work in a village in the Andes.

Rest and relaxation
This phase could be spent relaxing on the Caribbean coast, exploring one of the National Parks, white water rafting in Barinas or Mochima or taking a trip to the spectacular Angel Falls, the highest waterfall in the world.
