The recruitment process
The people that make up World Challenge are a huge commodity to us and with that in mind, we invest time and effort in our recruitment process. Similar to our Expeditions, the recruitment process you can expect in applying for a position with us will involve an element of challenge.
The steps you can expect in our recruitment process are outlined below:
Application
The challenge begins with the submission of your covering letter and CV. We invite you to acclimatise yourself with the role and our company and submit an application which does justice to your relevant skills and experience. Please see our hints and tips section to find out what you can do to do just that.First interview
Once invited for an interview with us, you can expect a competency based interview, usually with our Recruitment Officer and the relevant Line Manager. Our Recruitment Officer will provide you will further information regarding the role to enable you to relate specific examples from your own experience to the competencies we are looking for. As a company founded on providing an educational experience, we will also welcome any questions you may have to ask us!Second interview
Second interviews are conducted as standard for every role within World Challenge, regardless of the level of the position you are applying for. These give you an opportunity to talk more about your aspirations, goals and motivations and enable us to assess where you could fit within our business. The second interviews are likely to be conducted by the Line Manager, in addition to our Head of HR & Training, or another member of the Management Board.You may meet a member of the team you are looking to join during the interview process. This will give you the ideal opportunity to ask questions about the role from somebody who can give you first hand information regarding what to expect!
Tasks
You will also be given the chance during the interview process to demonstrate your suitability in other ways. We have a number of tasks that have been tailored to suit each position, from telephone based tasks and presentations to attention to detail exercises and scenario based assessments. Having gained a thorough understanding of our business, the ‘World Challenge Knowledge Test’ will give you the opportunity to showcase the results of your research.Tour
We also realise that to help you assess whether you picture yourself in our organisation, it helps for you to witness the environment for yourself. At second interview stage, you will be given a ‘walk around World Challenge’ enabling you to see the company in action.Find out more
