Our company…
As part of the Specialist and Activity sector within the TUI Group, World Challenge provides educational expeditions for school groups. We offer the opportunity for over 400 groups to enter into a programme of learning and development; fundraising; and team building, culminating in a 1-6 week Expedition to one of our exciting destinations in the developing world.
On hand to encourage and support the students throughout their fundraising efforts are our dedicated Fundraising Support Team. We are now looking for two additions to the team, to help enable students to raise funds for their expedition; and gain money management and life skills.
What you’ll be doing…
You will be proactive in providing innovative and practical fundraising solutions over the telephone. The role will involve providing support, encouragement and inspiration to young people; offering them fundraising and money management advice.
Managing your own portfolio and working towards retention targets, you will liaise with the Regional School Manager and School Support Coordinator for the schools in your portfolio to identify teams who are particularly struggling with their fundraising efforts and offer them targeted support. You may also occasionally have the opportunity to attend fundraising focus meetings in schools.
Liaising with the Head of Events, you will promote and attend fundraising events organised by World Challenge; assist in the preparation and promotion of fundraising competitions and updating fundraising social media.
The role will involve credit control duties at certain peaks in the expedition programme cycle, but full training will be given to enable you to tactfully chase for payments whilst providing support at all times.
Your profile…
We are seeking a motivated and confident communicator, with a proactive and innovative approach. You’ll be friendly by nature and possess the ability to generate enthusiasm and build positive relationships with young people.
Comfortable working to targets and able to manage deadlines, you will adopt an approachable and helpful manner, whilst being assertive and tactful during the peaks in the expedition season when credit control duties are required.
Ideally you will have experience liaising with customers over the telephone and dealing with sensitive situations. Credit control experience would be a benefit but not essential as full training will be provided. You will have excellent communication skills, the ability to motivate and inspire others and be a creative problem solver. Able to manage your own portfolio, you will be able to demonstrate exceptional attention to detail and organisational skills.
