Check out our March and April fundraising ideas...

Here are some fundraising ideas for March and April and a last minute one for February:

Oscars...

27th February
Hold an Oscar themed party at school or a local hall. Get people to dress up as movie stars past and present or in their best suits and dresses. You could also think about holding a movie club at school and show films that have previously won Oscars.

Crufts...

10th-13th March
Hold your very own pet competition by charging people to enter a picture of their pet and getting people to vote for the winner. The winner could either win a percentage of the takings or a prize. See if you can get a local pet shop to sponsor you in return for advertising.

St Patrick’s Day...

17th March
Organise a St Patrick’s Day themed party or a meal. Charge people for entry and include extras such as raffles or an Irish themed quiz.

Oxford and Cambridge Boat Race...

26th March
If you have a gym at school you could set up a sponsored row-athon or hold a competition to see who can row a certain distance the quickest. See if you can get prizes donated from local sports shops to reduce costs. You could hold a sweepstake on the time it takes the winner of the Oxford and Cambridge Boat Race to finish. Make a list of times and charge people to choose one. The person with the closest time could win a prize. You could also hold a mini boat race at your local river. Set up a course and charge people to race their home made boats.

April Fool’s Day...

1st April
Set up a joke shop at school or organise a silly outfit day at school. Charge people to wear their outfits and the winner of the craziest ensemble could win a prize.

Mother’s Day...

3rd April
Hold a stall at school selling home made cards, gifts and offering gift wrapping services. You could also approach local florist to see if they can sell you slightly damaged flowers at a reduced cost and sell these on. You could also think about organising a Mother’s Day meal at a local restaurant. Ask them to provide a set menu and then sell tickets to the evening.

Grand National...

9th April
Hold a sweepstake and charge for entry. People draw a horse at random and the winners receive a prize or a percentage of the takings. The team get to keep the rest of the proceeds.

St George’s Day...

23rd April
Hold an English themed event at school, in a local hall or at a pub or restaurant. These could include selling full English breakfasts, roast beef dinners, sausage/pie and mash and cream teas. You could hold a tea party or hold a sports match.

Easter...
