Just as on the job training is a vital to an apprenticeship, learning outside the classroom is an important educational experience for students that can’t be replaced by text books.

Even day long geography field trips make a lasting impact, so imagine the vast learning experiences that an expedition to another country could provide. From learning about history and culture, through to geology and the environment, learning outside a classroom has never been so much fun.

Real life learning outside the classroom

Learning outside the classroom

It’s often difficult to comprehend information without first hand experience.  In particular young people find it hard to make a connection with something they’ve read about as it often feels like it has no relevance to them.  Learning outside the classroom provides a personal link that makes information relevant and memorable.

Learning outside the classroom develops knowledge as well as skills. Travel inspires learning.  It introduces students to new people and places, to spectacular scenery, unusual wildlife and makes them think about how the world is changing.

Learning outside the classroom also teaches important practical skills such as team work, money management and leadership, all of which are important for further education and the workplace.
