- 24-hour manned Operations Centre overseen by a dedicated manager
- Market leading telephony systems and detailed information relating to all teams in-country
- A dedicated disaster recovery plan to ensure that computer or power problems in the Operations Room does not affect the service provide to teams overseas. This includes an independent generator should there be a power cut
- A team of Incident Response Managers - highly trained and experienced individuals sourced externally with relevant experience gained from either the emergency services, armed forces or expedition leadership
- Bespoke, industry leading insurance policy with Royal & Sun Alliance to ensure money is never an issue in an emergency
- Ability to send money anywhere in the world from our own Western Union terminal in the Operations Centre
- Rapid Response Team ready to travel overseas in the event of a serious incident
- International medical assistance through an international partner with access to a network of emergency evacuation facilities (incl. screened blood) and additional aviation support
- Industry best practice relating to National Governing Body (NGB) recommendations
- Fully compliant. World Challenge is the first expedition company to have been externally assessed against British Standard 8848 and to be awarded the prestigious Learning Outside the Classroom Quality Badge for overseas expeditions
- All leaders are equipped with state of the art satellite communications that provide a unique method of summoning emergency assistance. In most destinations, this will include a satellite phone as well as a satellite distress beacons linked to the UKMCC at RAF Kinloss
- 24hrs access to medical advice from a renowned expert in expedition medicine. This service provides real-time advice and support wherever the team is in the world
- All destinations have a resident In-Country Agent on hand to respond to logistical situations
- Full time World Challenge staff are also present in regional hubs when expeditions are taking place to provide additional support and service to teams
- The maximum ratio of adults to Challengers is 1:8. There will be at least one other adult, usually a teacher from the school and if it is a mixed gender team, always a female adult
