World Challenge and the International Baccalaureate
World Challenge aims to bring to schools programmes that complement and enhance their existing curricula, and provide exciting opportunities for students and staff. The Overseas Expeditions programme delivered by World Challenge aligns very well with the ethos of the International Baccalaureate, and further offers students a springboard for fulfilling elements of the IB diploma;- The CAS - (Creativity, action and service)

The International Baccalaureate ethos
Learning how to learnWe take students out of the classroom and teach them the value of experiential learning in the outdoors, learning for themselves and as a team, making mistakes and learning from their experiences.
Asking challenging questions
We encourage students to think for themselves, and to challenge themselves and their peers to do things differently.
Communicating with people from other cultures
The nature of a World Challenge Expedition (i.e. not a package tour) enables students to interact with and communicate with people from cultures very different to their own on every day of an expedition.
Developing a strong sense of identity
We give students the freedom and guidance to assume the roles needed on an expedition (leader, accountant, cooks, transport and environmental officer etc). In assuming these roles they learn more about their own strengths and weaknesses within teams.
