The best instructors and Expedition Leaders in the industryWe pride ourselves on attracting the best Instructors and Expedition Leaders in the industry who are carefully selected based on their qualifications and experience of working with young people.
Minimum requirements include practical mountain, jungle or desert experience, National Governing Body Awards, First Aid training, experience of working with young people, passing a CRB criminal record check and World Challenge's stringent Leader Assessment Course.
Professional outdoor instructors, experienced school teachers and members of the armed forces make up the majority of our Leaders.
Leaders attend our intensive Leader training programme, comprising a rigorous 4-day Leader training and assessment course and either a 1-day expedition preparation conference or an in-depth 1-on-1 expedition preparation briefing.
The ratio in the team of adult Leaders to students always meets industry best practice (1:8)
