Dr. Jon Dallimore - Expedition Medical Expert

Jon Dallimore is the World Challenge expedition medical expert. He has been advising World Challenge on the medical aspects of expeditions since 1993 and helps write our medical handbooks for use by teams on expedition.
Jon is a General Practitioner and a specialty doctor in the Emergency Department of Bristol Royal Infirmary. Jon's expedition experience started twenty-two years ago and since then he has spent more than two years living and working in the field as a doctor and/or leader.

He has worked in the deserts of Namibia, Sinai and Northern Kenya; the jungles of Sulawesi, Belize, Thailand and Ecuador; and high altitude climbs and treks to Nepal, Greenland, Pakistan, Iceland, Morocco, East Africa and the Andes.
Jon is an International Mountain Leader, a member of the Alpine Club and a member of faculty on the UIAA Diploma in Mountain Medicine. He is medical director of Wilderness Medical Training TM and runs Far From Help courses for World Challenge each year. He is a co-editor of the Oxford Handbook of Expedition and Wilderness Medicine (published September 2008).
