Introduction to the Iceland expedition

Iceland flag

Known as the ‘land of fire and ice’, Iceland is the most active volcanic region in the world. It is the second largest island in Europe with the northern most point of its mainland extending to within a few 100 metres of the Arctic Circle. Iceland is an incredible destination shaped by nature and rare beauty. Its dramatic and wild landscape captures a fascinating combination of active volcanoes, towering glaciers, lava fields, craters, powerful spouting geysers, rising mountains, thundering waterfalls, glacial flood plains and hot springs. Another highlight is the clear Arctic light, which shines almost continuously throughout the summer months.

This expedition is ideal for fir teams that not only want to experience adventurous trekking but also those with an interest in geology or geography.
