Ethiopia
Introduction to the Ethiopia expedition

Sitting between North Africa’s Red Sea and the East African Rift Valley, Ethiopia is one of the continents most dramatic and beautiful countries. Ethiopia has a deep and fascinating history: from our earliest human ancestors (teams can visit the famous 3.2 million year old “Lucy” in Addis Ababa’s National Museum), to over a thousand years of Christian heritage and stunning medieval architecture, to the 17th century castles and palaces of Gonder – Ethiopia endures as one of Africa’s most unexpected and historically bountiful destinations.
The Simian Mountains National Park is the jewel in Ethiopia’s crown for trekkers, encompassing broad plateaus, plunging river valleys and jagged peaks, including Ras Dashen – Ethiopia’s highest peak at 4543m. |
