Thailand forms the heart of South-East Asia, bordered by Malaysia to the south, Cambodia to the south-east and Myanmar (Burma) and Laos to the north. The topography of Thailand varies from high mountains in the north, which are part of a series of ranges that extend across northern Myanmar to the south-eastern edges of the Tibetan plateau, to tropical islands in the south that make up a portion of the Malay archipelago. This country of Thailand has the advantage of covering an extensive latitudinal span, which engenders a diverse climate and equally varied flora and fauna. |

Our Challengers loved… Getting well and truly off the beaten track, living amongst traditional hill tribe communities and being given the opportunity to experience a side of life in Thailand that very few visitors see. Exploring the dense jungles and rolling hills of the north, living in stilt-house homestays, learning first hand how to survive in the jungle and carve bamboo tools, and traversing this rich environment on foot, by waterway and even on the back of elephants! |
