Introduction to the Borneo expedition

Malaysia flag

The stunning island of Borneo lies in the South China Sea in South East Asia. Borneo is predominantly covered by dense rainforest, supporting an abundance of plant and animal life.

Expedition teams to Borneo will visit the northern half of the island, travelling through both Sarawak and Sabah, enjoying a broad range of jungle and mountain treks. The two states of Sarawak and Sabah make up East Malaysia, with the tiny Sultanate of Brunei sandwiched in between them.

Climbing Mt Kinabalu is a major highlight. Leaving the mountain huts at 3am, and climbing through the night to see the sunrise from the summit, whilst wrapped up warmly against the cold. Then descending the mountain into the sunshine for some well deserved rest and relaxation!
