Chile
Introduction to the Chile expedition
|

|
Chile is a long and thin country consisting of a 4300km strip of land stretching from north to south, averaging less than 200km wide.
The main trekking area is known as the Norte Grande and is dominated by the Atacama, the world’s driest desert. Surprisingly temperate and accessible throughout the year, teams will be able to explore the wonders of the Norte Grande, such as its emerald lagoons, crystal clear skies, vast salt flats, mysterious Inca geoglyphs and flamingo studded lakes. Challengers will have the opportunity to trek on some of the highest volcanoes in the world. |

Our Challengers loved…
Trekking for days only passing through the odd remote indigenous village surrounded by the towering heights of the Andes. Looking out across the huge salt planes, watching the horizon shimmer. Spotting flamingos, alpaca and llamas in the National Parks. Reaching the sparkling emerald lagoons nestled in volcanic craters. Walking through the bizarre lunar landscape of Atacama and its twisting desert canyons. Running out of breath dancing with school children after painting their new school house.
