Introduction to the Brazil South expedition

Brazil flag

Brazil, with its friendly and welcoming people, has become something of a cultural melting pot, possibly due to the influences of its colonial past and its neighbouring countries.

The many national parks provide an array of trekking options and the opportunities for viewing wildlife are fantastic too, with many colourful birds such as macaws. In the Pantanal a large range of animals such as jacares (crocodile-like reptiles), capybara, anteaters and howler monkeys can be seen. Brazil is also home to the famous Iguaçu Falls, one of the seven natural wonders of the world, situated on the border with Argentina and Paraguay.

Brazil South expedition Our Challengers loved…
Trekking in the mountains of South Brazil and summiting a peak to get fabulous views to the unspoilt coastline.
Teams made life long friends with students from the schools and communities that they worked with as part of their project. The lush unique environment of the Pantanal, a large swamp area near the border of Bolivia, rewarded challengers with endless wildlife spotting opportunities in their journey by boat, horse and canoe.
