| Brazil covers over half of the continent of South America and borders every country there except for Ecuador and Chile. Brazil, with its friendly and welcoming people, has become something of a cultural melting pot, possibly due to the influences of its colonial past and its neighbouring countries. The country is dominated by the Amazon Rainforest, and expeditions here will provide the opportunity to really explore this fascinating area of the country. Temperatures in the Amazon are consistently hot and humid, and although rain falls all year round and it is very heavy but generally short-lived. |

Our Challengers loved… Paddling through the flooded forest keeping as quiet as possible and being rewarded with sightings of sloths relaxing in the trees above them. Teams enjoyed the complete contrast of trekking in the mountains of South Brazil where they can summit a peak and get fabulous views to the unspoilt coastline. Challengers also enjoyed the beaches, sights, smells and music of Rio de Janeiro. Challengers’ eyes were opened by their visit to one of the Favelas with a charity that organises ‘Be a local’ trips to benefit the local communities. |
