Introduction to the Argentina expedition

Argentina flag

Argentina stretches from the tropics to Cape Horn and shares borders with Chile, Bolivia, Paraguay, Brazil and Uruguay. The high mountain chain of the Andes runs the length of the country, for 3,500 miles from Bolivia to the South Atlantic. The low-lying Pampas make up the heartland of Argentina and are occupied by cattle stations or estancias.

Trekking is stunning in the beautiful and rugged mountains here or in the central Sierras Grandes de Cordoba. From here the seemingly endless flat Chaco stretches eastwards to the lush forested Misiones Province, famous for its Jesuit Missions and the natural spectacle; the Iguazu Falls.

Argentina with World Challenge Our Challengers loved…
Looking out over a sea of mountain tops, pausing at a 4,500m pass. Passing through remote farming posts watching the locals using age old methods to harvest the grains. Paddling down a river with howler monkeys and caiman lining the riverbanks. Breathing in the mist of water thrown up from the breathtaking Iguazu falls.
Trekking for days, hardly seeing a soul whilst being enveloped in soaring mountainous terrain. Cooking a traditional meal with the local women after a long day of construction. Wobbling back onto land after an exhilarating morning of white-water rafting!
