Who are our independent expeditions for?

If you have a real sense of adventure, aren't afraid of rising to a challenge and have the desire to develop important life skills, our World Challenge independent expeditions are for you. World Challenge independent expeditions fit into school or university holidays, and can also be the perfect beginning or ending to a gap year or career sabbatical.

World Challenge's independent expedition programmes give the opportunity to develop important skills such as communication, time management and fundraising. You'll be learning to lead the expedition team and taking your turn to do so, as well as building confidence and self-esteem. You'll also meet a great bunch of like-minded people and have a lot of fun on the expedition.

In addition, whatever destination you choose, you'll be doing something that'll look great on your CV and which is highly valued by universities and employers. This is particularly important in the current economic climate; go ahead, book on one of our expeditions, have an experience of a lifetime that will actually help you in the career queue! Just think, you could soon be trekking through the jungles of Borneo or climbing Mount Kilimanjaro. Although every independent expedition is unique, one thing's for sure - you'll have the time of your life!
