As the original schools Expedition company, World Challenge plan and deliver exciting, educational expeditions to over 50 destinations within the developing world, from Borneo to the Galapagos Islands! Over 500 school groups enter into a programme of learning and development; fundraising; and team building, culminating in a 1-6 week Expedition which usually involves challenging treks and rewarding community project work.
Our Leader Management Team ensure that each school group is appointed a qualified Expedition Leader; to maintain their safety in country, facilitate learning and enable the pupils travelling with us to take the lead in their expedition. Due to expansion within the team, we are now seeking another motivated and driven person to join them in sourcing and developing existing and potential outdoor Instructors.
What you’ll be doing…
Based at our Head Office in High Wycombe in a fast paced department, you’ll work towards team targets to source and appoint appropriately qualified outdoor Instructors for our exciting overseas expeditions.
Building strong relationships with Instructors, you’ll provide professional advice on all aspects of their employment and ensure timely recruitment related administration is completed. You’ll assist with potential Instructor assessment centres and attend outdoor industry events.
This is the ideal role for somebody with a keen interest in the outdoors industry to put their knowledge and communication skills to good use within an established company.
What we’re looking for…
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential in this role. You will be positive, persuasive and thrive when working towards targets. Customer focused and organised, you will be able to prioritise a busy workload and keep a calm head whilst under pressure.
You will have an active interest in the outdoors and a good understanding of outdoor education and outdoor qualifications. Ideally with personal experience of developing world travel, you will be able to build up a comprehensive understanding of the different leadership needs of our varied expedition itineraries.
You will be a team player, proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel and be able to present a credible, professional image to our Leader population and internal colleagues.
Experience working in a recruitment capacity would be advantage although not essential.
