Safety and Training Instructor

Chris Rhodes, Safety and Training Instructor

Chris Rhodes, Safety and Training Instructor Chris brings a considerable amount of experience to the Safety and Training Team having led numerous expeditions overseas and been involved in the development of young people over the past 12 years. His role in the team includes providing training in expedition skills to School Leaders and Challengers and helping to monitor the company’s safety systems worldwide.

From a very early age Chris developed a great interest in the outdoors initially generated by a visit to Whitehall activity centre in Derbyshire. This brief encounter with adventure was enough to inspire Chris to go on to have many adventures, travelling extensively and taking part in a number of climbing and caving expeditions throughout the world.

In 1998 Chris left his career in engineering to train and become a full time Outdoor Education Instructor, his main focus being to pass on his passion for travel and adventure to others. After gaining the relevant qualifications Chris led his first expedition with young people in 2000 and has completed over 40 since in a great number of challenging and varied environments – 12 years on his commitment to learning through adventure is as strong as ever.

During his leisure time Chris enjoys taking part in a wide number of outdoor activities with his partner Heather.
