Our people... make us what we are

We’ve asked our staff to answer a few questions to give you a feel for what a career at World Challenge is like. Here’s what they have to say:

What attracted you to World Challenge?
"The World Challenge ethos was very appealing to me. Also the training and development programmes in place are very impressive. There is also room for progression within the company which is something that my previous job lacked".- Lee Baker, Business Support Team Assistant

Why do you like working at World Challenge?
"World Challenge respects individual workers needs and has offered training and support to enable me to perform to my best abilities. Even though I am regionally based I still feel very much part of the team through residential training, continuing updates and being asked for contributions to further the success of the company. World Challenge have offered me flexible working conditions which I have greatly valued. They have also maintained an excellent social network, which is often not found in the work place today." - Sarah Musgrave, Programme Facilitator

Are there any ways in which your role at World Challenge has exceeded your expectations and if so, how?
"I was not expecting the impact that we have on peoples lives, I have had people in the street, on trains and even in nightclubs telling me what World Challenge has done for them! Also the people I work with have exceeded all of my expectations, never have I work for an organisation with such an amazing staff." - Alex Hughes, School Liaison Manager

What has been the most exciting experience you’ve had whilst working here? B
"Being an assistant leader on expedition to Malawi was one of the best experiences ever and learning to lead groups was great." - Alice Walton, School Support Coordinator

What’s been your proudest moment in your time here?
"Receiving emails from Challengers saying that they have used my fundraising ideas and been really successful." - Beth Edmundson, Fundraising Support Advisor

How would you describe the culture at World Challenge to someone else?
"Although not meaning to be a cliché - work hard, play hard. Most people are ambitious and want to succeed but also want to enjoy themselves - frisbee, badminton, nights out - it makes coming to work enjoyable." - Lucy Wright, Head of Telesales
