Benefits

We appreciate the value our staff add to our business and hope to reflect that appreciation through the benefits we offer.

I can see that World Challenge will reward commitment and results so everyone should get out of the job what they put in” - Chris Sephton, Logistics & Facilities Manager

Amongst others, our benefits include:

A healthy work / life balance...

Not only do we offer a generous holiday entitlement at 25 days per annum, we also deliver a Time off in Lieu scheme, affectionately known as ‘TOIL’.

Allowing your money to go that little bit further...

We have a number of benefits which enable you to make the most out of your money, including:
  • TUI ‘buy as you earn’ holiday concessions
  • TUI ‘buy as you earn’ share plan
  • Outdoor kit and clothing discount
  • Subsidised gym membership
  • 'Be Rewarded More' scheme. Huge discounts and cash back from over 1000 retailers!

We listen to our people…

Having invested time and effort in recruiting the very best people, we want to listen to their ideas. We’ve implemented the following to enable us to do that:

Ideas Count

Employees are encouraged to submit their ideas to improve our business to our MD. For the ideas that are subsequently implemented, the employee earns themselves £100! From here the idea will be shared with the World Challenge staff to ask for their feedback.

Breakfast with the Boss

Every month invitations are sent out to a small number of World Challenge staff from across the business asking them to attend breakfast with our Managing Director, Nigel Miller.

Here, they are openly encouraged to discuss what they are enjoying in their roles, any difficulties they are experiencing and any ideas that they can suggest for improvement. This opportunity for honest two way communication helps foster close working relationships, all over a tasty breakfast!

Work in Partnership Group

A group made up of World Challenge staff act as a communication network in order ensure World Challenge employees are consulted with and informed of any proposed or actual changes within the business. It has been set up to provide additional channels for communication, an opportunity for two way feedback and as a platform for collective views to be communicated.

Excellent learning and development opportunities…

Comprehensive induction programme

The induction programme was a great way of meeting people around the office, gaining an understanding of colleagues’ roles and how your role affects others in the company. It is great to know how many people rely on me doing my job well!” - Lee Baker, Business Support Team Assistant

Training opportunities

"I never thought that when I started that I would be able to create promotional material from scratch! I have had some great training, which has enabled me to make some really cool things and make the most of all the amazing images and products we have." - Erica Cooper, Sales & Marketing Assistant

Company Conference

"The company conference was excellent, I've never worked for a company that put so much effort into training and listening to (and actioning) ideas from every member of staff." - Helen Guyver, Head of Marketing

Progression opportunities

I started at World Challenge as an Expedition Planning Manager. After two years of planning the expeditions to Central America I switched East Africa for my third year in the company. In my fourth year I was promoted to team leader within the department, and half way through my fifth year became head of department” - Alex Auden, Head of Operational Planning

Investing in your future…

We encourage and reward your competitive streak…

Houses compete against each other in a variety of ways, from delivering inter-company training to competing in a ‘tug of war competition’ to earn points for their team. The winning team are set to enjoy an extra days’ holiday together to reward themselves for their hard work!
