Following the success of the new formatted 2011 events we will continue with this format but for those who attended last year, we have introduced some new optional workshops.

What is an Expedition Preparation Conference? an opportunity to learn more about your destination and expedition itinerary a one-day event for all travelling adults on expedition a series of key lectures and interactive workshops an update on medical issues and the World Challenge medical kit

What happens at the Expedition Preparation Conference?

All 2012 sessions will be 100% focused on your destination and continent.

• The core event will run from 10am to 4.20pm with all these sessions being mandatory
• The safety presentation will be available to view on My World Challenge in preparation for the Expedition
• The event is run to ensure the workshops you attend on the day are as interactive as possible
• The medical presentations are continent specific
• The scenario workshops are continent specific and will include incidents from the 20101 expedition programme to ensure they are relevant to your expedition
• The optional workshops are back for a third year, but these will be tagged on either side of the core event running from 9am to 10am and 4.20pm to 5.15pm
• After the core workshop all Continent Managers and Expedition Planning Managers will be available to answer more of your questions

Who needs to attend?
If you are a School Leader, Expedition Leader or Expedition Assistant taking part in a 3-4 week expeditions to a long haul destination then you will be required to attend. As the format is now more continent and destination specific on the day, if you have attended in previous years, you are still required to attend in order to be attend workshops relevant to your 2012 expedition.

Dates and venues
Following feedback from previous years, all our dates are at weekends in term time so that means you are not missing out on taking holidays over Easter or during the May half-term. These will be announced over the next few weeks.

We obviously take the safety of you and your teams very seriously and as such request that all travelling adults departing to one of our long haul destinations are in attendance.
