  • £23,868 basic pro rata, term time only + car allowance pro rata (total package £7960.57 for length of the contract)

A member of TUI Travel PLC, World Challenge are a learning and development organisation who design and deliver education expeditions to over 50 developing world destinations for school groups. We help young people achieve personal and team goals to develop valuable skills for later life such as teamwork, leadership, problem solving and communication; we truly provide a life changing experience! We are looking for a regionally based addition to our School Programmes team, to deliver our educational programme and facilitate learning.

What you’ll be doing…
Regionally based and reporting into a Team Leader, you will visit schools within Northumberland, Cumbria, Durham and be responsible for:
  • Inspiring and motivating Challengers to complete the expedition programme through the delivery of high quality expedition preparation meetings and training on topics including, but not exclusively: travel safety, health and hygiene, first aid, water purification, fitness, kit selection and management, expedition team roles, leadership.
  • Facilitating the effective development of teamwork within each expedition team, preparing all Challengers for a successful expedition.
  • Acquiring a comprehensive knowledge of our destinations to plan itinerary options with school groups.
  • Conducting presentations to teachers, parents and challengers.
Your profile…
Representing World Challenge, you’ll be customer focused and passionate about outdoor education. You’ll build strong partnerships with teachers, enthuse parents and inspire students through ongoing guidance and support, meetings and presentations.

You will be an excellent communicator, enthusiastic, proactive and outgoing; and able to ensure first class customer service. With adept facilitation skills, you will have experience working with young people. Previous Expedition experience and / or experience as an Outdoors Instructor would be a distinct advantage. Knowledge of outdoor kit and developing world travel also a benefit.

Flexible and adaptable, you will be available to work predominantly afternoons and early evenings and occasional weekends. You will have your own transport and a full driving licence. Given that this role is term time only, you will also be able to sign up to lead overseas Expeditions during the school holidays if you possess the relevant skills, experience and qualifications.
