Nepal has recently fallen victim to unseasonably adverse weather conditions which saw 32 people lose their lives in the Annapurna region due to an avalanche and blizzard on 15 October.
Since this tragic occurrence, World Challenge has been monitoring the situation closely and is in constant communication with its In-Country Agent and governmental travel authorities.
At present, a decision has been taken for all treks within the affected areas to continue as planned as recent updates suggest conditions on the ground are returning to normal; should weather conditions deteriorate then teams may be instructed to change their plans at late notice and should be prepared for this.
Another cyclone (Tropical Cyclone Nilofar) is predicted to hit India and Nepal within the next few days. However, up-to-date reports state that it has changed course and will not actually make it as far as Nepal.
Rest assured that Challengers' safety remains of paramount importance to World Challenge and they will take the necessary course of action should circumstances dictate.
