29th June 2016

Search Press Releases

Late on 28 June there was an attack on Istanbul's Ataturk International Airport (IST) involving at least two explosions and some gunfire. No World Challenge teams were directly involved in this incident. World Challenge does have a number of teams who are due to fly with Turkish Airlines and to transit through Istanbul on route to and from their expedition destination in the coming weeks.

The British Foreign and Commonwealth Office and our security partners International SOS are reporting that flights to and from Istanbul are resuming gradually but to expect some delays and disruptions. As per government advice, we are in communications with Turkish Airlines to ascertain if upcoming flights are likely to be affected.

As the situation continues to stabilise and more information becomes available, we will provide updates to customers; we expect this to be within the next 48 hours. We appreciate your patience during this time.
