It has always been important that young people are physically fit, not just to support health and wellbeing, but critically to ensure that they can access opportunities and life experiences that will give them the transferable skills important for future success.
At World Challenge we recognise the importance of physical fitness for the health and wellbeing of young people both on expedition and in their day-to-day activities and believe that as a society we need to have a high level debate about how to improve fitness levels amongst children and young people.
We have recently published an Insight Report based on the data collected from our first year of running fitness tests along with expert insight from expedition/wellbeing doctors, Expedition Leaders, teachers and Challengers. We hope you find it thought-provoking.
If you would be interested in discussing the findings and implications of the report further, or would like to discuss how World Challenge can work with you to start to tackle some of the challenges and concerns expressed, please don’t hesitate to get in touch with our Global Communications Manager Jon Dale: [email protected]
