Thantwe School

World Challenge teams have been getting involved with both short- and long-term projects at Thantwe School for over three years. Teams are currently helping to build a library at the school.

The Zomba Plateau offers teams the chance to tailor their acclimatisation-trek phase to suit their needs.

The different day treks on the plateau can be linked to develop trek skills and endurance before tackling one of Malawi's bigger treks.

In 2013, World Challenge added

2 new project sites

to its portfolio of NGO contacts in-country.

Projects in Malawi

The projects in Malawi focus on rural-community development, through a network of local NGOs and schools. Projects are designed to fit into a larger development programme, with each team playing their part in delivering long-term goals to the host communities.

In-Country Agent

McDonald heads up our in-country team, who are experts in travel around Malawi. He is invaluable to teams looking to source rest and relaxation options in Malawi, and is always happy to offer advice on local etiquette and logistical info to teams.
